Sound and Vision takes five promising local bands and pairs them up with five emerging voices from the local film scene. Once partnered, each filmmaker is then provided with minimal equipment and a crew, as well as post production facilities. “Both-And: The Lee Hicks Story”, which looks at the current social climate for transgendered people by following the story Lee Hicks, a Toronto teacher who is embarking on a Canadian first: openly transitioning from female-to-male and sharing the process with his grade six classroom, and with school administration — risking the disapproval of fellow teachers, parents, students and the closely-watching public.
